She heard it in her SPIRIT when she was just 15 years old! Nkechi Carroll @kech99 KNEW she wanted to adopt. It was part of her life plan and everyone that would join her life would have to get on board. Her husband and teammate @drjoncarroll was the one! He was ready to go the distance, and together, they created their beautiful family. Just years after the birth of their first son Isaiah, NK and Jon welcomed two day old Elijah into their family. After a long process of classes and screenings they successfully adopted Elijah through the #fostercare system in Los Angeles. What they didn’t know is that God would give them another miracle along the way. Years later a phone call revealed that Elijah had a birth brother who was previously adopted by another family also in LA. Once again they answered in spirit and would do their best to create a safe space for both boys to meet and grow up knowing each other. And after a play date in the park, Elijah met his birth brother and continues to “KNOW HIS TRUTH.” If we pay attention we will see that God gives us chosen families… some biological, some not, and some in between. Whatever the case, the one thing we must always grab a hold of is the choice to lead with LOVE!
